I’ve just received a copy of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring [Extended Version] – Four Disc Collector’s Box Set! It was gift from a very good friend, Steve P, who I recommended for a short term contract at my office. I can’t wait to watch it! Too late tonight, maybe tomorrow.

I’ve just spent a couple of hours drawing up a floor plan for the school Christmas Fare in Smartdraw.

Strangely, we won’t actually be going to the fare. We have to travel to Anthony’s wedding reception that day. It will be the first one we have missed since Jamie started school.
Jan will still be helping organise it right up until Friday.
For some unknown reason, after this mornings log rotate, I’ve not got any Apache logs today. Rather, I have the log files but they are empty. That is going to play havoc with my statistics! 🙁
I’ve logged a support ticket with the help desk.
I’ve not really been posting much recently, at least not any thing personal for the journal side of this blog. This is mainly ‘coz I’ve been busy with my two hacks; I’ve been having a lot of IM conversations with B2 users, helping them out; plus I’ve been very busy at work.
I’ve not been updating the ‘currently reading’, or ‘currently hearing’ sections either!
I really must try to get it together!
We all slept in this morning! I didn’t wake up till 9:20.
Jamie went to her friend Jessie’s house for the afternoon. Jan tidied out Jamie’s room. What a job that was! I did some cleaning and some shopping. I bought Jan the new Terry Pratchett book, Night Watch.
This evening we watched Disney’s Dinosaur which we hadn’t seen for a long time.
They’ve emptied the canal at the back of my office for repairs. Or should I say ‘de-watered’ 🙂
It’s pretty disgusting the stuff that is lying at the bottom of it. I’m ashamed of my fellow humans! Though not as disgusting as some of the stuff that floats in it when it’s full. 🙁

A pair of tourists in New York have fallen ill with bubonic plague — a naturally occurring though rare disease. The couple from Santa Fe, New Mexico appear to have contracted the disease from the fleas of wood rats around their home. The media on the east coast of the US seem to be having a bit of a panic about it.

It’s an old story now, but the Samsi restaurant uses naked girls as tables
The Samsi Japanese restaurant in Manchester is charging £75 to eat food placed on the bodies of two nude women.
Angel Tan, 22, and Kit-Ying Ross, 25, will act as human tables at the first of the “nyataimori” nights on Friday.
The word translates as “adorned body of a woman”. The women will spend the night naked and lying face up.
I should mention that this place is about 200 yards from my office. I pass it most nights on the way to the train station. I’ve not been tempted to pop in though! 🙂
