Cats!

Cats!
Yay! We saw Cats today. It was fantastic! We all thoroughly enjoyed it. The Palace was packed, I don’t think there was a single empty seat. I’m so pleased that Jan was able to make it. I think she was in a lot of pain, but she doped herself up with pain killers and managed to survive.
The show was great. There were some really strong voices in the cast, I’d say stronger than when we saw it at The New London Theatre, particularly Chrissie Hammond as Grizabella. The cast made execellant use of the relatively small set, and despite the comparatively awkward layout of the Palace, managed to make a few appearances amongst the audience.
In my opinion, there were only two niggles; Nicholas Pound as Old Deuteronomy — his voice was fine, but his acting was lacklustre; and the legroom in the circle seats was a joke — I couldn’t even sit straight in the seat. I had to either sit with my legs to one side and my back twisted, or sit with my legs spread wide. I’m not that tall really at a shade under six foot, there are plenty taller. Within an hour my back was very painful. It must have been agony for Jan.
But the show was worth it. We picked up some more merchandise, including the Cats – Ultimate Edition DVD, which we then watched as soon as we got home!
If you get chance to see this show, you must! Highly Recommended.

Weekend Roundup

I’ve had an unusual weekend this week. Jamie has not been around! She stayed over at Bekki’s both Friday and Saturday night. Then this morning, she went straight from Bekki’s to a Church Parade with Brownies. So by the time I picked here up at lunchtime today, I hadn’t seen her since Friday morning! I spoke to here on the phone Friday night, but it was very unusual to not see her for so long.
Apart from that I also ended up watching quite a lot of TV. Very unusual for me.
On Saturday, I finished off last weekends job at my Mum’s. I fitted a new inlet hose on her washer and finished off the kitchen cupboard.
Anyway today was Megan‘s birthday so we all went round to Kim and Megan’s for her party. Megan and her guests spent a couple of hours doing organised crafts. They decorated their boxes beautifully. I’ll post some pictures soon.

Miss Red Journal

Yay! Jackie’s new blog has finally gone live! This is the one I’ve had DNS trouble with. But it’s all sorted now. Check it out at Miss Red Journal. This is my first ‘proper’ design (in that it is more than just modifying CSS colours). Let me know what you think.

What A Weekend!

Phew! What a weekend I’ve had. I do not seem to have stopped all weekend.
Saturday
I started on Saturday morning, going to find a kitchen cupboard for my mum which would fit in with here new washer. I discovered that the standard depth for all these units is more than the depth of the units in mum’s kitchen! I also found out that the prices at B&Q are much higher than I was expecting, Continue reading

Fresh Bread

Jan got a bread maker from my sister Carole today. She gave it a try this evening. The bread was great! Still warm, really soft. I think we’ll be having lots of fresh bread from now on.
