Yahoo! It looks like my zed1.net domain is finally sorted. It moved onto the new server today, and the ip address change seems to have propagated through the DNS now. Fingers crossed for no more problems.

More Meetings
I’ve been in another all day meeting today apart from when I was in a different meeting first thing this morning. But I have been pleasantly surprised to find how productive it has been. We’ve designed a speed up for the web sites (albeit one which ought to be a slowdown), and identified and fixed several faults in the system.
Linkin Park – Meteora
Aaagh! I’m getting withdrawal symptoms already. I’m in an all day meeting today, so I can’t listen to the new Linkin Park – Meteora album. It’s all I’ve listened to for the last two days. I can see this turning into another obsession somewhat like I had with Reanimation.
Truly a fantastic album! Must listen some more…
New Blogs!
Although they’ve been announced elsewhere, and I’ve had the links in my sidebar for a couple of days, I would like to formally announce Kim’s Korner, my daughter-in-law’s blog, and The Cat’s Paw, my daughter Jamie’s blog. These are the two designs I have been working on over the last week or so.
They are both hosted on zed1.net so access is intermittent at the moment 🙁
However, by the end of Thursday Zed1.net should be on a new server and I’ve been promised no more outages like the recent ones.
Linkin Park – Meteora
I got the new Linkin Park – Meteora album today. I can confidently say it is great! I’ve managed to listen through six times so far, and there are some really strong tracks on there.
My initial impression was that a couple of the tracks seemed to start weakly, but I think it is because I am so used to the slick cuts between tracks on Reanimation. I’ll post more when I’ve listened some more.
I’ll also make some comment on the extras CD I got with the limited edition version.
Recommended.
Despite the guy in the shop claiming “I’ve heard its not very good, it’s had bad reviews!”, after I’d paid my money. I love this album already.
Activity Since Last Visit
I’ve just installed Alex King‘s Activity Since Last Visit hack. Which means you should now see a notice at the top of the page to indicate whether there are any new posts or comments since your last visit. This will start working once you have read this post since it needs to set a cookie.
A Charmed Life
I forgot to mention that I finished A Charmed Life: The Autobiography of David Essex a few days ago. I quite enjoyed it. It was certainly an eye opener. He was a bit of a rogue as a young lad!
A good read.
Zed1.net back up
Zed1.net finally came back sometime before 9 this morning, only to disappear again! It was back again after midday. I finally received an email explaining:
“Some customers may have been experiencing intermittent problems with the server over the weekend. We have been working continually to rectify it and have now identified the problem, which is currently being worked on.”
They have decided to bring forward their Systems Upgrade Schedule which should result in a faster more reliable service. We shall see.
In the meantime I am still assessing other hosting providers. I’m even looking at reseller services which will allow me to host multiple domains.
