Sunday

Fitted the shelf in the kitchen alcove. Amazingly it actually fitted first time! Got the kitchen hi-fi connected and working (on the new shelf).
Took the opportunity to re-arrange the cables for the PC speakers and the mouse. Much more convenient. All done by 1pm.

Steve, Kim and Megan came round followed by Paula (Jan’s niece) and her new boyfriend Alan. First time I’d met him. Nice Guy.
We spent the rest of the day chatting and having a laugh. A really good day.

Later I flicked through the cable channels without actually watching anything and went to bed early.

A Productive Day

A good day today:

  • Finished the cupboard on the new computer desk.
  • Bought the shelf for the alcove in the kitchen (will fit it tomorrow).
  • Got my watch for my birthday next week. This one:Accurist Sports ChronoIt’s an Accurist Sports Chrono from Argos.
  • Fixed the overflowing toilet cistern (the float was letting in water and not doing much floating).
  • Bought sticky pads for the rear view mirror which is about to fall off (will fit tomorrow).
  • Did sixteen minutes on the gravity walker (1000 steps)
  • Sat and watched a film with Jan and Jamie (The sound of Music 🙂
  • Got Pingu, Pingi, and Igloo’s keyboard and monitors working through the KVM. Pingu’s mouse doesn’t work though 🙁 I guess you can’t connect a PS/2 mouse to a serial port, but then why do they sell the adapters?

Cable TV is back

Ho ho, the cable TV service is back and working now. NTL delivered a new digital box this morning. The engineer apparently took an hour
to get it back up working.
Because it was a new box, I had to re-register with the broadband service when I got home 🙁
Also, only the basic TV channels were working not the ones I’m subscribed to. I phoned a friend on the ‘inside’ who got them all back on for me.

So Jamie will be happy again, the Disney Channel is back! She was ‘forced’ to watch a video this afternoon!

More later.
