Saturday

We had a full house today. Pretty much everyone came round. It was a great day.

The kids decided to get out the Lego and build an obstacle course for the Micro R/C cars. I managed to get a couple of good shots of one of the cars leaping over some Lego bricks driven by Kate.

Saturday…

Went round to my Mum’s today, Jan took her to the doctor’s coz she’s having trouble with her back again. I stayed behind and fixed her loo seat! 🙂

My ‘cousin’ Ade has been staying at my Mum’s for a couple of days. He’s looking for work ‘up north’ amongst other things. We had an interesting chat that got round to his school life in Nigeria. Very different to my school days.

Back home we didn’t do much as the planned autumn clean up of the garden was postponed because of the rain. Later Steve, Kim, and Megan came round. He was showing us his new toy. It’s very nice with lots of cool functions, but I did find it awkward to hold. I’m left handed and always find small Japanese electrical toys difficult, but this really didn’t sit comfortably in my hand.

We also spent way too much time on this very addictive word game. A joint effort netted us a score of over 400,000!

Jamies Website

We’ve been working on Jamie’s web site today. We made quite a lot of progress. Jamie has a good idea of what she wants and how she wants it to look. For an eight-year-old that’s really great.

We’ve got the initial layout of the first page done today. Lot’s of chopping up of images with Paintshop Pro. I’m beginning to think that I may need to have a look at a decent WYSIWYG HTML editor. One that is graphics oriented.

The trouble is, I don’t have very high expectations for their HTML output. Maybe they’ve got a lot better since I last looked at them. So far I’ve managed to do what she wants with css positioning. We’ll just have to see how complex it gets.

Pleasant Day

We’ve had a quiet, pleasant day today. We all had a lie in, and didn’t do too much all morning. Jamie and I played a little with our tiny RC cars (yes, I had to go and get one for Jamie yesterday).

The dog got a bath today, he needed it. 🙂 He and the cat both got their regular dose of flea spray; they really don’t like that. 🙁

In the afternoon we went for a walk in the park with the dog . We collected a few ‘conkers’ and pine cones. No throwing of sticks at trees though.

Graham, Jackie, and Thom came round briefly this evening. They were on their way to pick up Bekki from a party. Thom’s being having trouble logging into his browser, but it seems to be specific to their machine. He says he can log in from other peoples browsers. Strange. They don’t have Windows XP, which I believe does have some kind of problem with B2.

Paula’s Birthday

Today (well yesterday now) was Paula’s Birthday. Lots of family got together and we went out for a meal. We went to Rusholme and had a great meal in the Shaandaar restaurant. Afterwards we all went back to Steve’s house. It’s Steve’s birthday tomorrow, so it was a joint celebration.
