Yay! I picked up our Cats tickets yesterday! Cats is on tour this year after closing in London last year. It started at the Palace Theatre, Manchester yesterday. We, Jan Jamie and I, are going to see the show on Saturday. We are all very excited. We went to see it at The New London Theatre over three years ago, and Jan had seen it a few years before that.
We are all big fans of the musical and can’t wait to see it.

Cool New Face Recognition Technology
This technology story over at CNN/Technology sounds very interesting.
Twins crack face recognition puzzle
The computer whiz-kids — 22-year-old identical twins, Michael and Alex Bronstein, almost impossible to tell apart — have applied a new technology to recognizing faces in a way that may yet revolutionize international security.
“I said it to them as a joke: if you succeed in building a system that can distinguish between the two of you, you’ll get (a grade of) 100,” said the twins’ professor, Ron Kimmel of the Technion Institute in Haifa. “They succeeded and got 100. They are brilliant.”
The technology scans and maps the human face as a three-dimensional surface, providing a far more accurate reference for identifying a person than current systems, most of which rely on two-dimensional images, Kimmel said.
Oh No!
Oh no! Barbie blogs! And Chelsea and Madison. Complete with animated ‘webcam’ stories. It’s almost enough to make me want to stop!

Weekend Roundup
I’ve had an unusual weekend this week. Jamie has not been around! She stayed over at Bekki’s both Friday and Saturday night. Then this morning, she went straight from Bekki’s to a Church Parade with Brownies. So by the time I picked here up at lunchtime today, I hadn’t seen her since Friday morning! I spoke to here on the phone Friday night, but it was very unusual to not see her for so long.
Apart from that I also ended up watching quite a lot of TV. Very unusual for me.
On Saturday, I finished off last weekends job at my Mum’s. I fitted a new inlet hose on her washer and finished off the kitchen cupboard.
Anyway today was Megan‘s birthday so we all went round to Kim and Megan’s for her party. Megan and her guests spent a couple of hours doing organised crafts. They decorated their boxes beautifully. I’ll post some pictures soon.
Happy Birthday Megan
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MEGAN!
Lots of love,
Nan, Gramps, and Jamie

The Princess Diaries
I’ve finished The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot. It was OK. Written in the form of Mia’s journal entries made it quite interesting to read. It’s teen-speak conversational style didn’t grate on my nerves too much. In fact I quite enjoy that, like, kinda way of talking. It’s totally not as bad as, like, Valley Speak.
Verdict: Pretty good.
