I’ve been revising for my Java exam on Monday all weekend. In fact since Friday evening.
I’ve learnt that It’s been 24 years since I did any revision (and I didn’t really do any then) and I’m not that good at it. 🙁
Still, I don’t have any worries about passing tomorrow, but I’m less sure about getting as high a score as I would prefer.
We shall see. Wish me luck.

Twiki
I’ve added a large number of changes to our internal Wiki Wiki Web tonight. With any luck, this will stimulate some of the others to contribute.
Back to Work
First day back at work today after a two week break. Hmmm. Not too hard. Lots of email to catch up on. A bit slow getting back into the swing of things. But, all together not a bad day.
Cor! Wot a Scorchah!
Whew! Hot day today. Apparently we are at the start of a heat wave. Whilst it was hot but nice outside it was unbearably hot inside the office. The temperature at my desk reached 88.7 degrees F this afternoon. Way too high! Very uncomfortable.
Cutting Code
Hey, I’ve finally started cutting code for my latest project! Still got to update the docs as I go along, but it’s a relief to be cutting code again.
Of course the timescales are rediculousley tight, and don”t even take into account my holiday at the end of the month!
I Can See Clearly Now – Part 2
The last of the scaffolding has gone now, though the centre section of the ground floor of the building has had boards raised around it.
It does make a pleasant change to see the old victorian facade again. Still some way to go on the new entrance but progress is good.
Fire… Not!
Two fire alarms today! Both false alarms thankfully. Damn annoying though. It ususally takes at least 20 – 30 minutes to get back to my desk.
I can see clearly now…
Woo hoo! Nearly all the scaffolding as been removed from the building in which I work. It’s been there for about twelve months! The section still remaing wil be there for a few more weeks while the builders complete the new entrance and foyer.
It seems really wierd to stand outside the building for a smoke, having been under the scaffolding for twelve months one feels exposed! Very strange. But the building looks better again and presumably a lot safer now with the work completed.
