At long last, I’ve been working on my B2 Link Manager project.
Currently I’m working on sorting, both in the link manager and in the output links. I’ve got most of it done. It should be finished tested and published by the weekend.

Statistics
Stats are back to normal now. It must have been some momentary glitch in the people’s psyche driving them to my site! 🙂 🙂
More Log Statistics
Well this morning’s stats weren’t quite so impressive. But still well up on two days ago. Ah well, back to your regular program. 😀
Spike!
Wow! When I checked my stats this morning, I was amazed to find a huge spike in all the statistics:
- Visits up 33%
- page views up 166%
- hits up 54%
- bandwidth usage up 315%
All compared to the day before. Looking through my apache logs, I can see that most of this was real visits. Most of the user agents were browsers, and all the images were being requested which crawlers don’t usually do.
I can only put this down to the search engine friendly URLs which went in on Saturday evening. That gave Google and the other search engines a couple of days to get the data into the databases; and bingo! I must have moved up the rankings!
I’m going to monitor it for the next few days and see what develops.
Search Engine Friendly URLs
I finally got around to implementing the search engine friendly URLs feature of b2 . Inspired by a couple of the comments on that thread, I’ve taken it a little further; so now most of the URLs on the site should be really friendly 🙂
See my post at the b2 forum for the details.
MySQL and NuSphere Settlement
It’s good to see that MySQL AB and Nusphere Corporation have settled their dispute.
B2 0.6.1 Installed
I’ve updated to the latest version of B2. Another easy job thanks to CVS. Not a single hack or mod lost.
Cool 😎
B2 Hacks
I’ve updated the list_cats() hack (count of posts in each category, date of last post in each category) to be more efficient. See boardom forum for details.
