An Austrian electrician has invented the world’s first tattooing robot. It runs on a palm pilot.
I’m not sure how genuine this is, but let’s hope Microsoft don’t get into this business. I can just imagine having “Born to be w?*z%^ MS TattooMe has caused an error. Press any key to continue” across your back. 🙂
And a BSOD is gonna hurt!

Monthly Stats
Well the monthly stats for November are in, and as expected the 3 days without logs has skewed the totals and averages.
As it stands it seems that the daily average number of visits is 228 which is down on last month. However if I ignore the three blank days then the average is up to 254 visits per day. This is nearer to what I would expect. Every stat except visits is up on October’s figures. This month I actually had over 1 Gig bandwidth usage for the month. In fact bandwidth usage is up by more than 50%!
B2 Calendar Bug
I’ve just noticed and fixed a bug in the B2 Calendar code. Actually two, there was also one in Alex King’s ‘arrow’ hack. By coincidence, as I was working on a fix, Alex IM-ed me to say he’d spotted it too. Between us we got it fixed. Do you remember all that fuss about referrer advertising? A company mastadonte were hitting web logs with the referer set to a page in which they tried to sell referrer advertising. Well, they’ve decided to change their mind: We decided that it’s in the weblog community’s best interest to discontinue this project. However they weren’t the only ones who thought of it. I’m now getting several blocks (up to 10) of hits (all from the same IP address) with porn sites in the referer field. Luckily they are only HEAD requests which don’t show up on my referrers list. I will have to keep an eye on it though. PS: Yes I know referrer is spelled wrongly twice! The name of the HTTP request header was spelled wrongly in the specification. So one should really refer to it with it’s ‘correct’ spelling! I’ve posted a couple of minor updates to B2 Link Manager and B2 Extra Options You can find the messages on the B2 Forum: this post and this one By coincidence I’ve had the same request of both my major B2 hacks today: “How to create the database tables without telnet or PHPMyAdmin access”. So I’ve knocked together a couple of install scripts. You can find out all about them on the B2 forum: B2 Extra Options Yep, the log files are back and I’ve a 3-day ‘hole’ in my stats. Boo hoo! Hurray, the Apache log files are back. They came back on after this mornings log rotate. I noticed that my onpage counter had gone up by more than 1250, in the 12 hours since I was last at my home PC. If that’s an indication of the activity I’ve had over the last couple of days, then I may have missed some peaks. Time to re-investigate installing some other stat tracking software. I’ve installed PowerPhlogger locally, but not played much with it.

I won’t see the results of my two day ‘gap’ until the early hours local time. I’m not looking forward to it.
